John --

This has been an historic year for FairVote’s reform vision. Nationally, three ranked choice voting provisions passed the U.S. House, and FairVote leaders were featured everywhere from the New York Times <[link removed]> to CBS Morning News <[link removed]>. More than half of state legislatures debated RCV bills, with important legislative wins in states like Colorado, Georgia and Utah. More than 30 cities used RCV, RCV won on the ballot in five more cities and the winners of the two most prominent elections of the year in New York City and Virginia won hotly contested primaries with RCV.

We are proud of our leadership in the movement for making ranked choice voting the norm in our elections and reforming winner-take-all elections for Congress. Our momentum is underscored by news I’m now pleased to share: 2020 presidential candidate and Forward <[link removed]> author Andrew Yang has joined the FairVote Action Board of Directors <[link removed]-------------------------------> as its Vice-Chair.

Andrew and our CEO Rob Richie will hold a special one-on-one conversation on January 10 <[link removed]> to discuss Andrew’s decision to prioritize election reform as the most urgently needed change in modern America.

Andrew’s decision to work with FairVote demonstrates our commitment to work with allies across the political spectrum. This includes Democrats, Republicans, independents, and third-party members – all coming together around the belief that ranked choice voting and the Fair Representation Act are essential tools to level the playing field and make elections better for all Americans.

As we execute our strategy for comprehensive national reform, I’m excited by the momentum of our growing reform coalition – ranked choice voting is now the fastest-growing nonpartisan election reform in the nation. RCV is earning both "outsider" and "insider" support, which is key to why we believe it can become the way we vote in every state.

There is no doubt that this is a time to think big about what is possible. Bringing Andrew into our circle is yet another big step for ranked choice voting, the Fair Representation Act, and our movement – as we work to turn our shared passion into change.

So please join me in welcoming Andrew, and please join Andrew and Rob for their discussion on January 10 <[link removed]>!

Best-
