[1]Beto O'Rourke
John,
We have a major test of our strength coming up at the end of the year — in
the form of our first-ever public reporting deadline with the Texas
Election Commission. Soon, our grassroots fundraising numbers will be
public for all to see, and we need to show up strong if we want to keep
our momentum going.
The good news is, our team of grassroots supporters is growing bigger by
the day — but on the flip side, since our campaign is people-powered,
we’re expecting fundraising to slow down over the holiday weekend.
We wouldn’t have it any other way,
John. But if you’re in a place to do so,
[ [link removed] ]today is a great day to chip in $3 or more to help us
weather the holiday slowdown and prepare for our campaign’s biggest
fundraising deadline to date.
The bottom line is this: the more resources we have, the more Texans we
can reach, listen to and learn from, and authentically inspire to join our
team.
Let me share an example of how we’re doing that work right now. Through
events, digital outreach, local headlines, and more, Beto has been using
his platform to hold Greg Abbott accountable for the fact that if you live
in a rural community in Texas, you may soon have to pay over $100 more on
your phone and internet bills — all because Abbott vetoed rural network
support.
State leaders should be investing in our rural communities, not turning
their backs on them. We’re making sure people understand why their bills
are getting bigger, and how Beto would do things dramatically differently
— by investing in rural broadband, expanding Medicaid and improving rural
health care, and fully funding our schools and paying teachers their true
value.
There is so much on the line in this election, and we’re going to spend
every day between now and next November demonstrating the difference
between Beto’s bold, inclusive vision for Texas and Greg Abbott’s small,
mean-spirited one.
[ [link removed] ]So if you’re proud of how we’re running this campaign and share our
vision for Texas, would you consider chipping in $3 or any
amount today, to make up for this weekend’s slowdown? Otherwise, we may
fall behind our end-of-year goal.
