Dear John,

When it comes to storytelling, our goal is to be in the driver's seat. I’m proud to share that for the past 18 months, MPAC’s Hollywood Bureau ([link removed]) has been producing a short documentary. The goal of the documentary is to help reduce the toxic polarization dividing our country by showing the deep bonds of trust and respect that can be established between Muslims and Evangelical Christians in conservative areas when we work together to accomplish good, one act-of-compassion at a time.

Inspired by the Quranic verse, “Whoever saves one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity,” the documentary seeks to redefine the story of the American Muslim experience by showing audiences how integral we are as frontline healthcare workers who are protecting our fellow Americans.

We were delighted to have recently premiered the trailer at our 21st Annual MPAC Convention. The documentary, which will be released in 2022, tells the story of Dr. Ebtesam Attaya Islam, who is battling COVID on the frontlines in Lubbock, Texas while shattering stereotypes at the same time. I know you will be inspired by her courageous story as we are.

We are also excited to tell you that this documentary is being created with an all-Muslim identifying creative team. We are honored to be working with Producer, Salam Darwaza, Associate Producer, Lobna Hassairi, Director, Justin Mashouf, Directory of Photography, Wesam Nassar, and Editor, Ayser Salman.
