Dear John,

Thank you for your partnership this year. 2021 has been a year of righting many wrongs, but it has also been another year of hardship for so many in America. Many of us have spent this year seeking to find a “new normal” after recent unprecedented experiences, but many others are being left behind, saddled with long-term insecurity and inequity.

The Law Center continues to rise to this challenge – defending the legal rights of unhoused persons while advocating for housing as the solution to homelessness.

This year’s parallel health and economic crisis have put our neighbors in overly-precarious positions, and the Law Center and our allies have fought to ensure these dangers are mitigated through fighting against encampment sweeps[[link removed]] and the criminalization of homelessness[[link removed]] while urging that housing is a human right[[link removed]]. Though changes are happening, it will take powerful action to affect meaningful, lasting change.

And don’t forget - our pro bono partners devote thousands of hours in legal research, litigation, legislative and regulatory advocacy, and direct legal advice - with an estimated value of nearly $6.5 million in donated legal services – meaning that your gift is multiplied six-fold!

This year, we hope you will join us[[link removed]] to end homelessness and ensure permanent housing justice for all.
