What a year it's been.

First, I watched an American President incite a deadly insurrection that came within an inch of overthrowing our government and destroying American democracy.

Then, just hours later, I watched 147 Republicans shamefully vote against certifying a free and fair election.

And now, those same leaders, most in safe Republican districts, think they can coast to re-election without consequence.

What happened to the Grand Old Party of Lincoln? What happened to our country having two healthy, sane political parties? The current situation has become so dangerous, and none of us can afford to bury our heads in the sand and just hope it goes away!

I, for one, have refused to be silent, and was even willing to sacrifice my own re-election to put everything we've got into defeating those who betrayed our country.

Country First has a bold cutting-edge plan to take on and take out the most toxic partisans in Congress -- before they are even on the November ballot: In the primaries.

We'll be launching this first-of-its-kind operation in January, and when you hear the details, I know you'll be as pumped as me for what we can do together to punish those who betrayed their oaths and ALL of us.

My promise to you: They're NOT going to like what we have planned.

Now I already know what's going to come next -- because it's what's already come before. They'll call me names; they'll try to kick me out of the party (in fact, there's a big campaign underway to kick Liz Cheney and me out right now); they'll threaten me and my family.

But I am not afraid.  I'm not scared of leaving my seat, because my seat doesn't define me.  I'll be proud to have made that sacrifice for my country.  But what we must do is ensure that a tyrant like Donald Trump and the bullies who enable him can't ever win again.

That's why I need your support right now, at this critical year-end fundraising deadline.  Our numbers must be so strong that there is zero doubt that the good people of this country will prevail over Trumpism in 2022 and 2024.  Country First plans to play a major role in that.

I hate sending emails like this, but with a mission like ours, funds are needed to keep the momentum going and to put our audacious plan into action.  We are so close to reaching our big fundraising goal.  I know you've been supportive of our mission, and I hope you'll be open to this:

The funds donated today will go toward our MASSIVE effort to unseat those in Congress who put Q Anon, Lies, Conspiracies, and the Trump Family before our Country.  The money also helps build our community, marshal an army of thousands of volunteers, create space for reasonable people of goodwill to solve our greatest problems, and provide a fresh, optimistic vision for our country.

I do not take for granted the trust you've placed in me to usher our movement through this storm, and I'm humbled by your continued support.  Donating is an investment in our democracy and a down payment for a better, brighter America for our kids and grandkids.  I have faith the good we do today will be compounded over time, and I'm excited by what we can do together.
