Something I’m really thankful for around the holidays
John,
I wanted to reach out before the holiday and talk about community.
Community is something I’m really thankful for around the holidays. I grew up in foster care. After I was adopted by my mom, a public school teacher, we faced housing insecurity and hard times. From Stanford to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to running to be the first woman (and first Black woman) to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate, I am where I am because of my community.
I know what a strong community looked like growing up in Ohio, and I have a vision for what we need to do to get back to that.
We need leaders who will do everything they can to put power back in the hands of everyday working people, not leaders who are bought and sold by corporate interests or worse, the extremist far-right.
I’m running because everyone deserves the sort of community I have had, and because everyone deserves those opportunities. Ohio has been left behind for far too long, and I’ll fight for every Ohioan when I get to the U.S. Senate.
If you can, please support our campaign as we face our crucial end-of-year fundraising deadline. Your help will go a long way toward building this movement.
