Friend,
I'm reaching out to our top supporters — like you — to ask for a very important favor.
Temperatures are dropping into the teens across Afghanistan — and displaced families are struggling to survive without adequate food, heat and warm clothes.
You can't control the cold weather, Friend, but you can help make sure displaced families have what they need to stay warm and well-fed this holiday season.
Will you rush your holiday gift to help deliver urgently-needed aid to families in crisis? If you give now, your gift will be matched to make 2X the difference: [link removed]
Frigid temperatures and winter storms exacerbate the crises families are already facing and make it even harder to get help. For example, our teams on the ground have been reporting alarming rates of child malnutrition — and if families are unable to access emergency malnutrition treatment in time, 1 million Afghan children could die this winter.
As we gather with our loved ones this holiday season, I hope you'll keep in mind refugee families in Afghanistan and around the world — many of whom will be spending this holiday season without the warmth and homemade meals so many of us take for granted.

Thanks to supporters like you, we've been able to stay in Afghanistan — through crisis after crisis — for over 30 years. Thousands of compassionate IRC donors stepped up in the wake of this summer's extraordinary crisis and helped us scale up our rapid response in key moments.
Right now, our teams are working to provide emergency cash so displaced families can get blankets, coats, gloves and other winter items to survive the brutal cold. We are also supporting 62 local health clinics where families can bring their children for emergency malnutrition treatment.
Making a gift to fund life-changing programs like these takes only a moment, but makes a world of difference for the children and families we serve around the world.
Donate now to make 2X the impact this holiday season: [link removed]
Thank you and happy holidays,
