Over the weekend, Senator Joe Manchin announced he wouldn't support President Biden's Build Back Better Agenda. Mitch McConnell and the Republican party have been obstructing progress at every turn, and Senator Manchin's decision means this critical legislation is on hold again. I’m here to say that when I am Governor, Rhode Island will still Build Back Better.

The Build Back Better bill is the investment in the American people that we need to rebuild our state and country. As Governor, I will move this agenda forward regardless of what Manchin and McConnell do.

The plans our campaign has released for Rhode Island, which I remain committed to delivering include:

• Universal Pre-K
• Expanding access to childcare
• Combating climate change
• Reducing prescription drug costs
• Investing in clean energy
• Lowering the cost of college
• Increasing affordable housing

Rhode Islanders can’t wait for the obstructionists in Washington to get on board. I'm ready to get to work as Governor to make the investments we need to build a stronger Rhode Island where everyone has a chance to get ahead. Are you with me?
