John, I know it’s a busy time, but I wanted to sincerely thank everyone who dug deep to help us hit our October fundraising goals.

I know the news out of Washington can be overwhelming. So, I wanted to let you know about just some of the things I have recently done:

  • Introduced the Maximizing Drug Coverage for Low-Income Seniors Act, to improve the Medicare enrollment process and lower out-of-pocket costs. This bill is a part of H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act, which would lower the cost of prescription drugs for all Americans.

  • Introduced 15 bills in the College Affordability Act (4 of which I am the lead on), tackling issues like student hunger issues, Pell grant eligibility, diverse teacher retention, and more.

  • Pushed back on the Trump administration’s efforts to cut categorical eligibility for SNAP, which would result in one million children losing school lunch benefits – because hungry kids do not learn.

  • Signed on to a letter in support of small dairy farmers, highlighting the importance of family dairy farming to the history, culture, and economy of our country.

  • Was named as one of the "100 Most Woke" women by Essence magazine, alongside icons like Michelle Obama.

This is a grassroots movement, fueled by every corner of this community. I cannot do it alone and I’m grateful for your support.

Thank you,

-- Jahana
