Merry Christmas Hoosiers!

We're sending the Party Line a little earlier this week. With Christmas just hours away, we hope you will have the opportunity to turn off devices, disconnect from work, decompress for a few days and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

There will be plenty of time in the months ahead for the political work we've long engaged in and we know 2022 will be a very important election. But, for these next few days, we're going to enjoy Christmas with our family, faith, friends, and neighbors. All of us at the Indiana Republican Party wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you,
Kyle
Governor Holcomb's Week That Was

Building One Indiana For All

Governor Holcomb was joined by Senate Pro Temp Rodric Bray, INDOT Director Joe McGuiness and other local leaders for the ribbon cutting of I-69's northbound lanes through Martinsville ([link removed]) . The ribbon cutting opened for traffic lanes that had been closed for expansion for nearly a year.

“This new section of interstate better connects Martinsville, Morgan County and communities to the southwest with the rest of the state, the region and the country, makes travel safer and more efficient, and will catalyze economic growth and job creation across the Hoosier state,” Governor Holcomb.

The governor participated in the promotion ceremony of Indiana National Guard Adjutant General Dale Lyles late last week at the statehouse. General Lyles was promoted to major general.

"General Lyles is the right man at the right time for the right job," Governor Holcomb.

Governor Holcomb also delivered the keynote address at the 26th Annual Governor's Luncheon for Scouting ([link removed]) for Crossroads of America Council and the Boy Scouts of America. The theme of his address was Training Camp for Life.

Merry Christmas from the Holcombs

"For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord," Luke 2:11.

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas from our family to yours,

Sincerely,

Janet, Eric, Henry, and Topper the photo-shy cat!

ICYMI: Automatic Refund for Hoosier Taxpayers

In case you missed it, last week it was announced that Hoosier taxpayers will receive a refund on their 2021 taxes. Thanks to conservative fiscal management and a Hoosier economy that has proven its resilience, an estimated $545 million will be returned to Hoosiers.

“Despite a pandemic, Indiana exceeded all expectations and closed the state fiscal year with an unprecedented amount in reserves. We have an obligation to put this money back in the hands of taxpayers instead of leaving it in the hands of government,” Governor Holcomb.

The Governor is working with leaders of the general assembly on legislation that will streamline the refund process and make an additional 910,000 taxpayers eligible for the credit. The typical taxpayer liability is approximately $1000. This payment represents a 12-13% one-time tax cut.

Once again, Republican leadership is paying dividends for Hoosiers!
Oakman Returning to Holcomb Administration

Eric Holcomb for Indiana and Indiana Republican Party Director of Strategic Communications Jake Oakman is returning to Governor Eric Holcomb's administration to be Executive Director of the White River State Park Development Commission. Jake's last day with us will be December 31.

“Jake has long been devoted to making Indiana a better place to work, live, play, study and stay,” said Gov. Holcomb. “He will take his passion and commitment to making Indiana a global destination and build upon the current successes of one of our states Crown Jewels, the White Rive State Park," said Holcomb.

Jake has extensive experience in Indiana’s tourism and sports industries. Before his first stint in the Holcomb Administration, Jake was Director of Communications for Visit Indiana. Jake’s first job in Indianapolis was at White River State Park, working as a ticket sales executive for the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field.

We will certainly miss Jake but are glad he's not going far. Congratulations Jake!
