ProPublica’s reporters are unrelenting in their search for the truth.

They spend their days filing Freedom of Information Act requests so you know just who is trying to influence our government. I’ve seen them share countless Slack messages with each other for tips and tricks on how to track down sources, get in touch with congressional offices and locate experts. Our data reporters run complex mathematical models to reveal the truth behind a mass of numbers. Our reporters use every tool they’ve learned, and some they’ve invented along the way, to gather facts for their investigations.
