From Our Families To Yours, Happy Holidays ❤️

From the Dispatch writer:

This has been an especially hard year, as we continue to fight COVID and ensure everyone gets vaccinated. We know that for many of you, your holiday season has looked different than most. I know -- for example, my relatives has decided out of an abundance of caution in dealing with the Omicron variant, we'll be eating Christmas dinner early, outside. Certainly not the Christmas we're used to, but we're adjusting because we want to keep each other safe.

If you're having a different holiday season like I am, know that you are not alone. We are one community, one family, and we all care for and look after one another. As my time with the Colorado Democratic Party comes to a close (for those of you who haven't seen the news, my last day at the CDP is 12/31/21), I look upon this holiday season with a renewed sense of gratitude. Gratitude for all the amazing work our tireless Democratic elected officials have put in to protect working families. Gratitude for my CDP family -- especially the CDP staff and officers, all of whom remind me every day why we do the work that we do to build a better future. Finally, gratitude for you, the readers, many of whom I sadly haven't had the opportunity to meet. Thanks to your readership, support, and dedication to Democratic causes, we have moved our state forward.

But we have a lot of work to do in 2022. Republicans are looking to pass a flurry of voter suppression bills to ensure they win majorities back in the midterms. I don't know about you, but the thought of Lauren Boebert or Marjorie Taylor Greene having a committee gavel is terrifying. Heck, the idea of any of the clowns running for the Republican nomination for Governor or U.S. Senate is pretty terrifying too.

So, as an (almost) final request from me personally, volunteer your time or donate your treasure to the Colorado Democratic Party so we can keep this wonderful state a beautiful shade of blue.

Have a Happy Holiday, and keep getting into that good trouble!

In Solidarity,

David Pourshoushtari

Communications Director, CDP

Join the Defenders of Democracy!

If 2021 showed us anything, it's that we are no longer a party divided between liberals and conservatives. We are divided between people who are pro-democracy, and people who are anti-democracy.

Anti-democracy Republicans in Colorado are desperate to claw back power, and they'll say and do anything to make it happen. They have dark money, but we have you. Will you become a Defender of Democracy by giving $5 a month?

Monthly donations enable us to be able to plan our budget ahead of time and ensure that we can pay our organizers and staffers to continue to defend democracy. Monthly donors empower us to plan our budget, and they ensure that we can fully fund our 2022 Win Plan.

Will you become a Defender of Democracy and chip-in just $5 a month?

The Messaging Minute!

Despite Republicans' Doomday Predictions, a Merry Christmas is On The Way with Joe Biden as President

As our state and our country continue to recover from the pandemic, President Joe Biden and Democrats have taken action to tackle issues facing working families like the supply chain.

Thanks to Democrats, fears of a Grinch-like holiday season have gone up in a cloud of smoke, as the articles above (click them to read) show.

While Republicans refuse to do anything for working families, President Biden and Democrats are delivering!

  • New York Times: “Despite early fears, however, holiday shoppers have received their gifts mostly on time. Many consumers helped themselves by shopping early and in person. Retailers ordered merchandise ahead of time and acted to head off other bottlenecks. And delivery companies planned well, hired enough people and built enough warehouses to avoid being crushed by a deluge of packages at the last minute, as the Postal Service was last year.”
  • New York Times: “The achievement is all the more notable given that Americans are on track to spend more this holiday season than the one before — up to 11.5 percent over 2020, according to the National Retail Federation, a trade group."

Meanwhile, while Joe Biden and Democrats are delivering solutions, all Republicans can do is root for working families to struggle -- while admitting that they have no ideas to help working families.

The point? While Joe Biden and Democrats creating jobs, increasing wages, and cutting taxes and lower costs for middle and low-income families, Republicans are doing nothing to take on the corporate greed that is especially squeezing Americans during the holiday season.

Republicans are all talk, and only see the struggles of families as a political "gold mine" for themselves.

And remember...
