Dear John,
Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) has one priority: help individuals and families in our region thrive.
When someone walks into our doors, NVFS provides a culturally relevant continuum of services including shelter and fresh food, workforce development and educational opportunities, and trauma-informed health and mental health care services. By providing these necessary supports, we help families succeed and we ensure that our community stays strong.
For example, read Mia's story below:
When Mia met housing case manager Rachel, she was at her lowest point. She was living out of a car, had barely any money, and no access to healthcare. Losing everything had demoralized her.
Mia shared with Rachel that she didn't know how to turn on a computer, much less how to email and search for jobs online. The next day, Rachel dropped off a loaner computer.
Little by little, Rachel helped Mia rebuild her confidence and her life. As Mia's confidence grew, her daily calls to Rachel dwindled. But Mia’s time with Rachel isn’t over. She still has a few more goals to achieve in her self-sufficiency plan, but she is confident that she’ll get there.
Your gift today will provide the tailored assistance that clients like Mia need to achieve their goals. Will you support NVFS before 2021 comes to an end? <[link removed]>
