Concerned about housing availability in San Diego?
Look at the multi-billion dollar short-term vacation rental industry, including Airbnb, and the 16,000 homes this industry has removed from San Diego’s housing stock that are no longer available for residents who need a home to rent or buy, for example.
You’ve probably also seen the recent news over the Airbnb party house disasters.
These are just a few reasons why I’ve been leading the fight to enforce our local zoning regulations.
None of these houses were built or permitted for commercial use.
These are neighborhoods meant (and permitted) for neighbors, not hotel rooms!
Turning homes into hotel rooms disrupts neighborhoods and directly impacts our housing supply. Some politicians won’t address these problems for fear of upsetting a powerful special interest.
We need to stop playing politics and start solving problems!
That’s why I will keep standing up for every San Diegan who is sick and tired of politicians who aren’t strong enough to look special interests in the eye and tell them, “Enough!”
Look at the donors to the various campaign committees supporting my opponent. Who do these corporate special interests support? In the words of Bob Dylan, “It ain’t me, babe.”
One simple, free, and easy way to help us take on the establishment (and all their campaign advantages) is by telling your family and friends why this election is so important. Can you simply forward this email to a few San Diegans so they understand what is at stake?
