Today marks a pretty big milestone: our 50th year of delivering humanitarian medical aid. We know that we have much to be grateful for, including steadfast support from the many individuals who have donated to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Our heartfelt thanks to you for standing side-by-side with us and with the people we help in their time of need.
MSF was officially founded on December 22, 1971 by a volunteer group of journalists, nurses and doctors with the intention of saving lives and bearing witness to inequities, laying the foundations for a new and questioning form of humanitarianism that would prioritize the welfare of those suffering. 50 years later, MSF has expanded its reach to more than 70 countries and provided lifesaving care to countless people.
As an independent, impartial organization, we depend on the generosity of our donors to help us continue the important work we do around the world.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
