Here are three timely resources intended for parish social ministries:
- To observe Poverty Awareness Month in January, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis has published a daily reflection booklet based upon Catholic Charities USA’s policy paper, “Poverty and Racism: Overlapping Threats to the Common Good.” Included are prayers, Scripture passages, short selections from the policy paper, and suggested action steps. - Catholic Charities Maine’s Office of Parish Social Ministry has produced “The Journey Begins,” a booklet of daily Lent reflections, written by “people involved in jails and prisons in Maine, either on the inside or outside.” Each day’s entry includes Scripture and a brief personal reflection.
