We’re excited John -
On Monday, California’s independent Citizens Redistricting Commission voted 14-0 to approve the new Congressional maps for the next decade.
Before we go on to tell you more about why this is great news for our race to bring progressive reform to this district, will you chip in $14, or whatever you're able, to help us continue the fight?

Here are some of the most important pieces of information about our new district (now called CA-32!):
-
We changed from a D+18 district to a D+38 district
- Over the last 10 years, there have been just enough Republican voters to deny a progressive challenger from getting into the general election against Rep. Sherman. In a D+38 district, the chances of a Republican placing 2nd in the primary are near zero. That means Brad is now even more vulnerable to being unseated by a progressive campaign like ours.
-
Brad Sherman doesn’t live in the new district
- The wealthier, more conservative part of our district in which Brad lives, was moved to a different district. He may still choose to run in CA-32, but it’s poetic justice that he now physically resides outside the district he has failed to advocate for in his 25 years in office.
-
Our district touches the Pacific Ocean now
- While we have always emphasized climate issues, gaining areas like Malibu and Topanga, which have been so deeply impacted by wildfires, means that our district’s fight for climate justice takes on even greater urgency.
-
We’re not just the San Fernando Valley anymore
- The Redistricting Commission included parts of Los Angeles’ westside in CA-32. While the West San Fernando Valley is still the heart of our district, we welcome many new progressive areas from the Sawtelle neighborhood to Topanga Canyon. We gained areas with high concentrations of UCLA students and renters, and as an Iranian-American, I'm very proud to welcome Persian Square in Westwood into our new district!
With all these changes, our path to victory has grown significantly wider. But we cannot let up. We need your support now more than ever, John!
Can we count on you to contribute today so we can begin the important work of contacting all the new voters in our district?
