Finland's Permanent State Secretary Matti Anttonen on New Arctic Strategy Gender-Based Violence and the Rule of Law
Hoping to ease tensions and promote stability amidst growing foreign and security interests in the Arctic, Finland recently released their Policy for Arctic Strategy. The Polar Institute and the Embassy of Finland hosted this armchair discussion of climate change, sustainable development, and more. Gender-based violence is an urgent policy challenge, made more urgent by COVID-19, which has aggravated risk factors, while increasing barriers to protection. Our cross-Center publication examines how legal frameworks, judicial system responses, and public policy contribute to the ways in which gender-based violence is—and is not—addressed around the world.
