Friend ? Right now, wildfires made worse by climate change are devastating communities throughout California.
California is not alone ? communities across the nation are living with the devastating impacts of the climate crisis right now. What's more, these impacts are hitting communities of color, Indigenous communities, and low-income communities the hardest, exacerbating existing racial and economic inequities. It's critical that we move away from polluting fossil fuels and build a more sustainable, healthier future for all.
We have a rare opportunity to do that at the federal level with the 100% Clean Energy Economy Act, which will aim to transition our economy to 100% clean energy and net zero emissions by 2050. With this bill, we can improve public health for communities most impacted by pollution and climate change, ensure fossil fuel workers are trained for family-sustaining clean energy jobs, and reduce the harmful carbon pollution that is fueling extreme weather events across the country.
Now it's up to us to hold our elected leaders accountable to make this happen. That's why we're working with our partners in the Conservation Voter Movement to flood Congressional inboxes and show them just how important it is to invest in our clean energy economy today. Will you add your name and urge Congress to support the 100% Clean Energy Economy Act?
Solving the climate crisis depends on transitioning our economy to clean energy. Tell your representative to support the 100% Clean Energy Economy Act as an original cosponsor ? [link removed]
Progress toward a clean energy future is already happening at the state and local levels all across this country.
This is all part of our work for Clean Energy For All ? a program that is working to transition our economy to 100% clean energy by 2050. And most importantly: Our clean energy campaign is focused on climate justice to ensure that those most impacted by climate change ? especially communities of color, Indigenous communities, and low-income communities ? are at the center.
To build upon the incredible work our state leaders have done in communities across the country, it's critical that we also advance bold legislation at the federal level to further limit the use of dirty fossil fuels and advance a just transition to clean energy. The 100% Clean Energy Economy Act will support and expand action already being taken at the local level by cities, communities, and businesses to limit carbon pollution that's contributing to climate change. But that will only happen if your representative hears from you.
Will you join a movement of dedicated advocates who are committed to advancing a just economic transition to clean energy for all and send a message to your members of Congress?
There's no time to waste: Tell Congress to advance our clean energy economy ? [link removed]
