Friends,

It’s the end of the year, which means your inbox is undoubtedly overflowing with requests for donations. And with a limited budget, it can be difficult to know where to invest.

So today, I’d like to share my recommendation: Cheri Beasley, the fantastic Democrat running to be North Carolina’s next U.S. Senator. [[link removed]] Let me explain.

To start, Cheri is a trailblazer who has spent her career serving the people of her state. She was the first Black woman to serve as Chief Justice of North Carolina’s Supreme Court, and would be the third Black woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate.

And Democrats can win in North Carolina. Don’t just take my word for it: Cook Political Report calls this race a pure toss-up, and CNN named North Carolina one of the three Republican-held Senate seats most likely to flip in the midterms.

Here’s the truth: A 50-vote Senate majority is not enough. We need to elect more Democrats and build our majority if we’re going to make progress on the most pressing issues of our time.

That’s why I’m laser-focused on ensuring Cheri has the resources—early, when it matters most—to flip this seat and expand our majority. So please, before you close the books on 2021: Can you make a donation to power Cheri’s campaign? [[link removed]]

I’m deeply grateful for your support.

-Kirsten
