2021 has been an incredibly inspirational year to support the rights of women, girls and trans human rights defenders around the world. Young feminists of every nationality, ethnicity, and class have used their voice, unrelenting spirit and unique grassroots experiences within their communities to highlight their struggles and uplift the triumphs of their communities.

In 2022, UAF is dedicated to advancing feminist activism across the globe. We invite you to join UAF’s campaign to protect the rights of women, girls and human rights defenders in our regions!

The young feminists we support are amazingly creative, using diverse mediums to amplify their message at home and abroad. It’s no surprise that the next generation of feminists inspire us to hold onto hope as they curate the feminist future we all know is possible – not a story merely defined by trauma and struggle, but by confidence and opportunity.

There are numerous examples of young feminist activists stepping up for themselves and their beloved communities. Global Girls Media (GGM) Greece is just one grantee that fill us with hope as we make our way to 2022.

In Athens, young feminists are using media to build alliances and raise awareness about the issues they face, and the dreams they have, as refugees, migrants, and locals alike growing up and making a life in Greece. GGM Greece hosted a very special event on October 2, 2021 in Athens for the launch of “Over To Her”. “Over to Her'' is a beautiful podcast and video series produced by the young feminists of GGM Greece to promote the goals of the United Nations Gender Equality Forum.
