Dear John,
We can’t afford to live in a country that spends $81 billion every year [[link removed]] guarding the world’s oil supplies while refusing to spend $55 billion on clean energy initiatives [[link removed]] .
But this week, with the president’s Build Back Better legislation in dire peril, and a newly-passed $778 billion military budget [[link removed]] , that’s exactly what we got.
Will you donate $7 today [[link removed]] to help us fight these backwards priorities, and fight for our future?
The $778 billion military budget passed with huge bipartisan margins. That’s four times the annual spending under the Build Back Better package [[link removed]] .
Meanwhile, we face disaster on multiple fronts, from the pandemic to climate change.
Almost one in three Americans [[link removed]] experienced an extreme weather event this summer. But we still have no major national initiatives to address climate change. Meanwhile, Congress gave the Pentagon $25 billion more [[link removed]] than it asked for .
But the fight isn’t over. It has just begun, and we need to double down. Will you support us today with a gift of $7 [[link removed]] ?

With your support, we’ll fight to flip the script, and put your tax dollars where they belong.
With hope,
Lindsay, Ashik, and Lorah
