It’s hard to believe that 6 months ago tomorrow, I announced my candidacy for Governor of Maryland. What’s happened since is nothing short of amazing, and it’s all thanks to grassroots supporters like you.

→ We've reached voters in every corner of the state from Hagerstown to Baltimore to Crisfield.

→ We've made it clear that a Perez administration will stand up for workers, earning more than 100 endorsements from labor unions here in Maryland and across the country.

→ We’ve demonstrated our commitment to changing the lives of Maryland families for the better, earning us the support of elected leaders across the state, including over a dozen endorsements in Baltimore alone.

Now, our next six months are absolutely critical. We're facing our first public filing in January where our fundraising numbers will be on public display for the very first time. Then, we start the march toward the primary.

Every dollar earned before our filing on January 12 will be crucial to demonstrating the strength of our campaign. I need you now more than ever: Can you chip in $6 or more to demonstrate the strength of our campaign and help us power through the next 6 months? [[link removed]]

I’m not running for Governor to collect accolades or express my ideas for Maryland’s future on a debate stage. I’m running because I love this state, and I want to see all Marylanders reach their full potential.

The truth is, we are dealing with serious inequities here in Maryland. Families are priced out of housing, ZIP code too often determines destiny in our schools, too many folks are facing astronomical prescription drug costs, and it’s too difficult to receive the benefits workers have sacrificed to earn.

While politicians talk about these problems, I’ve spent my entire career getting stuff done, expanding opportunity and fighting to advance civil rights. I’ve delivered for Marylanders as President of the Montgomery County Council and Maryland Labor Secretary, and I’ve fought for justice, equality, and worker’s rights as the head of President Obama’s Civil Rights Division and U.S. Labor Secretary.

I’ll continue to deliver for Marylanders as Governor, but I need your help to make our shared vision a reality.
