What Resonated Most with Our Readers This Year

For all the hopes of returning to "normal," 2021 was anything but.

The year began with a deadly attack on American democracy. On January 6, a mob of insurrectionists laid siege to the U.S. Capitol.

And even though lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines became widely available to Americans shortly after the New Year, obstacles to ending the pandemic for good - such as vaccine hesitancy and costly global inequities in access - have persisted in 2021.

At RAND, we're reflecting on this year and focusing on the challenges that lie ahead. We continue to believe that objective, nonpartisan research and analysis has a key role to play in navigating this difficult time.

We've put together a list of the top 10 research projects that resonated most with rand.org readers in 2021: [link removed].

This collection covers a wide range of topics, including violent extremism in America, teachers' stress before and after the pandemic, and prescription drug pricing.

We also have roundups of notable RAND videos and commentaries.

Policy Currents will be back in your inboxes in January. Until then, have a safe holiday season and a happy new year.
