Friend,
It’s hard to believe 2021 is almost over! This is our final newsletter until the new year, when we’ll be hitting the ground running as the new legislative session begins on January 12th.
We wanted to give you an update on a few things, and thank you for all the support you’ve given us this year. Thank you!
From the entire Strong Future Maryland team to you, we hope you and your loved ones have a safe and happy new year. See you in 2022!
- SFM Team We are so grateful for everyone who purchased items from our wish list to give to kids in the justice system. Earlier this month, Alice drove the donations to the Baltimore Public Defender’s Office where they will be given to young people in need.
We were overwhelmed with the number of folks who stepped up and gave back.
Beth T, Nicole D, Laurie D, Kathleen B, Wendy D, Gail R, Carolyn M, David W, Alexandra Z, Shelly M, Johnny, Wendy H, Karen E, Shauna R, Carolyn M, Arlene B, Leslie F, Craig B, Ilhan C, Victoria P, Ellen B, Sheila, Antonia V, Sally C, Jane M, Joanne M, Sara L, Gail F, Tino C – THANK YOU!
We want to keep supporting this cause, so be on the lookout for other ways to help young people in the justice system. The Maryland General Assembly convened for a special session the first week of December to pass new congressional maps and override some of the governor’s vetoes on bills passed earlier this year. For the full recap of the special session, head to our write-up on our website. If you want to get in-depth updates about all of the action in Annapolis during the legislative session, be sure to sign up for our Session Insiders email list. Your support powers our work, from donations to community organizations across Maryland to fighting for progressive reform in Annapolis. If you’re able, consider supporting us with a donation today.
