<[link removed]> Dear Friends: As we look back on another eventful year, our work remains as important as ever. America continues to face significant energy, environmental, and conservation challenges – and more and more people are recognizing that we need to do something about them. At ConservAmerica, we believe that our role is to jump into the middle of those discussions. We have a responsibility not only to push back against top-down and counterproductive approaches, but to propose new, more effective solutions. There is no silver bullet that will solve our problems. Free enterprise encourages a variety of answers, and ConservAmerica supports approaches that reflect pragmatic, durable solutions that are rooted in market-based principles, innovation, and conservative values. When we are able to demonstrate synergy between environmental conservation and economic growth, we find that those are the types of policies that can garner broad support and endure. How do we arrive at these solutions? By holding to a set of core principles and engaging with those who have different perspectives and experiences. It’s been a busy year for us: We continued to support the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus <[link removed]> , a group of senators and representatives who are committed to following Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy of conservation. The Senate caucus is led by Lisa Murkowski and John Thune, and the House caucus is led by Brian Mast and Buddy Carter. We’ve worked with caucus members to conduct policy briefings and regularly scheduled stakeholder outreach meetings. In October, we brought together many organizations and individual supporters for our annual Roosevelt reception <[link removed]> , where we awarded our congressional leadership award to Senators Murkowski and Mike Braun and Representatives Mast and Bruce Westerman. During the year, we hosted numerous webinars <[link removed]> . The topics included high-priority legislative items such as Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, as well as vital policy issues such as US reliance on critical minerals, a clean energy standard, the pros and cons of carbon pricing, and the feasibility of conserving 30 percent of US land and water by 2030. Our panelists have been reporters, policy experts, and those in the field who can speak directly to the on-the-ground impacts of federal policy. We issued a number of op-eds, policy comments, and our first Supreme Court amicus brief. You can learn more about them on the press releases <[link removed]> page on our website. We congratulate one of our long serving board members, Jimmy Glotfelty <[link removed]> , who was appointed to the Texas Public Utility Commission, and welcome three new board members, McKie Campbell, Hal Quinn, and Christine Hughes <[link removed]> , who will help us reflect the varying regions and industries most impacted by our efforts. The public is demanding action. Our colleagues at the Conservative Energy Network recently released a poll <[link removed]> that shows that voters overwhelmingly support action that will lead to clean energy and climate solutions. And so we are here to remind voters that conservatives have been involved in these issues for years, to keep a steady drumbeat on commonsense solutions to our environmental challenges, and to let our champions on Capitol Hill know that we have their backs. We look forward to a successful 2022 and hope that you will continue to be there with us. Sincerely, Jeff Kupfer President, ConservAmerica Support Principled Conservation This year, we have seen, more than ever, the importance of protecting our public lands and the unique places that mean so much to us. There's no better way to be a good steward of the land we love than by protecting it for future generations. We need your help to continue leading the way on environmental, conservation, and clean energy issues. ConservAmerica believes the most successful approaches are the ones that offer common sense, market-based solutions rather than big government, top-down regulations.
