It set off huge alarm bells for us. The Proud Boys are the worst of the worst: they’re accused of inciting and organizing the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, they’re violently anti-LGBTQ, they’ve got dark-money backers with deep pockets, and even worse? They’re training their members to run for office in 2022.
And the Proud Boys aren’t the only extremists gearing up to hold elected office. Many extremists are switching from protesting school board and city council meetings over pro-LGBTQ literature to registering their campaigns for public office!
Some of them are already on the campaign trail! Here are four insurrectionists, bigots and extremists we know we must beat in 2022:
