Important year ahead: sign up for 2022 events!
A big thanks to all of you for your support in this year of highs and lows.
In 2021 we’ve witnessed a treaty banning nuclear weapons enter into force, the government announcing more nuclear weapons, UK alongside NATO troops withdrawing from Afghanistan leaving devastation in their wake, and a new military pact agreed with Australia and the US. All set against a backdrop of the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.
CND has reported the UK to the UN, commissioned a legal opinion that found the UK government has breached international law, organised our first online rally which was watched by tens of thousands of people, and taken our Nurses not Nukes message to the streets in towns and cities across the UK. So what's next?
2022 promises to be an important year for anti-nuclear campaigners and CND invites you to register for our events to keep up to date with the campaign.
- The nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference begins in January - a major international summit to measure nuclear disarmament progress. CND will be launching a new report at a side event:
- After another difficult year in the Middle East, CND is organising an online conference in February to discuss whether the region will ever be nuclear-free and how we can best support campaigns for peace:
- Did you know that nuclear warheads could be driving through your town or city? Nuclear warhead convoys are endangering communities across England and Scotland. Find out more in our webinar:
