Results from a recent poll of Americans under 30 show that over 52% of young adults believe that “democracy is in trouble” or that it’s failed altogether.

As a coalition of young Democratic members of Congress who witnessed Republicans blatantly and openly redraw maps to counter a growing diverse coalition of Democratic voters, we understand these concerns.

Many of our members that you elected ran for office because they share the same concerns younger people also have now.

As elected officials, Future Forum Democrats have the responsibility to safeguard our democracy.

By March 2021, only two months after the current legislative session started, Future Forum was instrumental in passing the For the People Act, Democrats signature anti-corruption and voting rights reform bill.

Later in the year, Future Forum Democrats helped pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which would restore the Justice Department’s authority over election law changes in states with a history of discriminating voting practices.

Republicans are united against these bills. Future Forum is united for these bills – and we need you by our side.
