John,

When we talk about who is most directly impacted by improving care infrastructure, what specific communities face the greatest need?

Women of color experience the brunt of our care system’s failures. The idea that care work should be free or otherwise poorly-paid labor done primarily by women of color is stubbornly ingrained in our current systems and culture. And that leads to a lack of support for women of color in the workplace and poverty wages for the disproportionately BIPOC caregiving workforce.

Caring Across works to uplift this caregiving workforce. We’re almost 50% of the way to our $10K for 10 Years fundraising goal, and you can help us continue this vital work by making a contribution today.

For women of color to break through the vicious and intertwined forces of systemic racism and sexism, we need infrastructure policies that support women and their families, as well as a culture that deems care and caregiving worthy of societal investments.

The goal for our work is for all people – women especially – to be able to give and receive the care they need for themselves and their families without the threat of economic instability.

As a woman of color myself who has also had the pleasure of working with direct care workers, this is deeply personal for me. When I see those women’s hard work and dedication to their patients, I’m reminded of both my grandmothers’ experience as immigrant workers when they first came to this country, as well as the importance of quality care when they need it the most in their final years. Centering care as a justice issue is about honoring and uplifting those most harmed by the continued devaluation of it.

By making a gift today, you’ll be supporting the entire tapestry of our work — from the state policy research we are currently undertaking to the public polling and ad campaigns that we will be rolling out starting next year.

Can we count on you to make an investment and contribute to a more just society for women of color? [[link removed]]
