John,
Our agenda for change is too important to give up now.
All this month, we’ve been applying pressure to Senator Joe Manchin to lower costs for the working families of West Virginia by passing the Build Back Better Act. We’ve helped organize events in Charleston to drive media attention to critical aspects of the bill, such as the expanded Child Tax Credit.
We’ve helped local advocates get on the radio, explaining how this legislation will make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
And, we’ve run digital ads in newspapers throughout the state (including in Senator Manchin’s hometown paper), helping West Virginians send messages directly to Manchin’s senate office.
We’ve seen time and again how, in the face of Big Money corporate lobbyists, direct grassroots action is vital to getting anything done in Congress.
Can you rush a contribution today to keep up the pressure on Senator Joe Manchin and fight back against the moneyed interests, like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, that are working to kill the bill?

Manchin’s publicly stated concerns of inflation and the Build Back Better Act’s price tag are unfounded, given that the bill is likely to cut inflation in the long-term and that it’s paid for by requiring the rich and corporations to start paying a fairer share of taxes.
Together, we must out-work and out-hustle the Big Money interests that consistently put their profits (and tax loopholes) ahead of the needs of the American people.
Thank you,

John,
We’re doubling down in our fight to pass a historic human needs agenda―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes.
Senator Joe Manchin’s announcement that he’s a NO on the Build Back Better Act means we need to increase our pressure campaign to hold him accountable to his constituents.
Already this month, CHN helped organize a bike rally in Charleston, West Virginia to get media attention on the need to pass Build Back Better. We helped local advocates get on the radio, explaining how this historic legislation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of West Virginians. And we launched digital ads at newspapers throughout West Virginia (including in Joe Manchin's hometown) which have prompted people throughout the state to contact Manchin's Senate office to demand he support the Build Back Better Act.
Our grassroots efforts are fighting back against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is running ads thanking Manchin for single-handedly attempting to kill the Build Back Better Act.
We can’t give up now!
Rush a contribution today to fight back against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and keep the pressure on Joe Manchin to vote YES on our human needs agenda, which lowers costs for working families on everything from health care to child care to housing and more!

Here are just a few of the critical provisions included in the Build Back Better Act that Joe Manchin's NO vote would stop:
-
Monthly Child Tax Credit of $250-$300 per child
-
Free Pre-K for all 3- and 4-year-olds
-
Lower child care costs
-
Lower prescription drug prices
-
Expanded health care access
-
The first-ever federal paid leave program
-
Housing affordability
-
And so much more!
Each of these programs is paid for by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
