Dear John,

In March 2020, I started PFLAG Riverview in Florida, along with a handful of parents who wanted to be the change they wanted to see happen. We held our first in-person chapter meeting -- and days later, the country shut down.

Thankfully, with help from the PFLAG National Chapter Engagement team and the newly created PFLAG Connects program -- which provided free Zoom access and digital resources for chapters -- we quickly pivoted to virtual PFLAG Connects meetings. Through PFLAG, we had an immediate bond, meeting weekly to provide the family-to-family support our community needed.

Every LGBTQ+ person deserves love and support. That’s why PFLAG and chapters like mine exist.

Will you support PFLAG National with a gift today to ensure PFLAG chapters are there for anyone and everyone who needs one?

Under lockdown and in less than two years, my chapter now serves nearly 50 families and more than 100 members. We volunteered and marched at Tampa Pride, established a lending library, and created an LGBTQ+ youth group. We regularly hold informal activities that build support and camaraderie, and we’ve reached out to community leaders to help raise awareness of our PFLAG chapter. We even have PFLAGers who live an hour away who regularly join our virtual meetings. We’ve truly become a family and meaningful support system -- and none of that would have been possible without the guidance, support, resources, and tools we were given by PFLAG National.

Please donate to PFLAG National right now to start, strengthen, and grow more chapters like ours, which support some of the most vulnerable people in my community.

On behalf of the PFLAG Riverview family, thank you. Your gift truly makes a difference.

Gratefully,

Faith Moeller (she/her)
