Dear Friend,

We’re so grateful for your continued commitment to grassroots movements over the past year. It’s time for us to give something back.

In case you didn’t know, our own Grassroots International board member Sam Vinal is a prolific and incredible filmmaker with Mutual Aid Media. He has covered struggles in Louisiana against oil pipelines, fights for Indigenous sovereignty in northern Canada, and stories of individual and collective liberation.

With his permission we’re sharing one of his films as a holiday gift to you… an expression of our appreciation. Sam's “La Lucha Sigue” focuses on our two partners in Honduras: OFRANEH1 and COPINH2 as they faced down the narco-military coup state of Juan Orlando Hernández.

Grassroots International donors like you have been critical in sustaining these movements amid violent crackdowns, election fraud, and targeted assassinations. As Honduras became the most dangerous country in the world to be an environmental activist, Grassroots supported these social movements to remain strong in their fight against state and narco impunity. Thanks to their struggle, and in part our support, the 12-year narco-military regime finally fell this November.

Please enjoy this documentary over the holidays, and let’s keep up the commitment to justice and liberation into the new year!

In gratitude,

Chung-Wha Hong
Executive Director

P.S. If you have enjoyed (or will enjoy!) this wonderful film, please consider making a donation to our New Visions, Continuing Resistance end-of-year campaign. Funds from this campaign will go to supporting OFRANEH, COPINH, and movements like them the world over.
