John, Joe Manchin announced he’s a "no" vote on Build Back Better…the legislation Biden and Democrats have been working on all year…on Fox News.
I truly don't get it. 🙄
We're talking about a popular + transformative bill that would do everything from cutting child care costs nearly in half for families in Manchin’s home state of West Virginia to expanding health coverage to over 100,000 uninsured Pennsylvanians.
Call me old fashioned, but I think Democrats should vote like Democrats. We don't need to be so concerned with what Republican senators or mega-donors will think — we just need to vote for what’s right for the American people.
Here's a promise: If you trust me with your vote in 2022, you’ll always have mine in Washington, DC. I'll never base my vote on what I think rich people or Republicans want to see — I'll just do what I know to be right.
It’s clear that without having a trustworthy 51st vote when it counts, we won't be able to toss the filibuster and get things done. That’s what’s at stake in Pennsylvania.
I am truly, truly grateful for all the support you've given our campaign so far. If millions of people here in Pennsylvania and across the country donate, volunteer and spread the word, I'm confident we will win. And when we do, I'll go to the Senate and fight for us as hard as I can. I guarantee it.
