John, it’s Stephanie.
I just wanted to check in before the holidays to see if you got the email from our team last week.
I’ll be honest with you, John. With the constant attacks on our freedom to vote, the filibuster blocking progress on legislation, and the ongoing pandemic, 2021 was a difficult year.
It’s because of you -- our amazing community of supporters -- that I remain hopeful going into the New Year.We can accomplish anything together.
We appreciate all that you do.
Stephanie ---------- Forwarded Message --------- John,
We’ll cut to the chase -- 2021 was a tough one.
As we navigated the second year of a global pandemic, we experienced a coordinated, year-long assault on our democracy -- and the attacks on our freedom to vote won’t go away any time soon.
Right now, we’re gearing up for a serious fight for voting rights in 2022 -- and we can’t do it without your support. In 2021, anti-democratic lawmakers across the country wrote and passed anti-democratic voter suppression laws aimed at stopping YOU from casting your ballot.
They saw what happened when young people, people of color, and people with disabilities turned out to vote in record numbers in 2020 -- and they’re doing everything in their power to keep us from the ballot box in 2022.
We know how difficult fighting for a stronger, more inclusive democracy can be, and we can’t thank you enough, John, for everything you’ve done this year to protect our freedom to vote. From calling on your senators to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, to getting your community registered and ready to vote in local elections, you’ve been an invaluable part of our work.
We hope you have time to rest and reflect over the holidays, and let’s head into the new year recharged and ready to fight.
As always, thank you for your support.
