John,
After the holiday, my campaign and I are going to be sending a few more emails than usual -- but please don’t ignore them, we have a good reason.
Not only does this month mark the end of the FEC fundraising quarter, but it also marks the end of the year.
Why is that significant? Next year is election year, and the numbers we report at the beginning of 2022 will set the tone for the rest of our campaign -- either as a force to be reckoned with or as a candidate whose seat could be easily flipped.
Will you help me send the message that this team has the resources to keep this seat blue by chipping into my end-of-year FEC goal today?
Curious about how our public fundraising data will be used? First, our current Republican challengers and other potential opponents will check to see how much we’ve raised, then weigh their chances of flipping this seat.
Then, national Republican groups targeting our race will assess the strength of our people-powered campaign, and decide how much they’re willing to invest in propping up a challenger in our district.
The last thing we want is a flood of money pouring into our race from national Republicans who think this seat is worth trying to flip. That’s why we need our end-of-year numbers to be as strong as possible. Will you please chip in today to give us the resources to defend this seat?
