John,
It’s been a big year for CREW—and for our democracy.
Donald Trump left the White House in January—but only after he started the year by inciting a violent insurrection based on lies about the election. At CREW, we’ve grappled with the consequences of that all year—from filing complaints to launching a comprehensive investigation that has resulted in big discoveries to tracking corporate donations to the Sedition Caucus to advocating for comprehensive democracy reforms.
We’re committed to continuing this legal, investigative, and policy work, for as long as it takes. But we need the resources to do that—and that’s where CREW’s year-end matching challenge comes in. A generous supporter is matching up to $50,000 in donations to CREW between now and the end of the year, which is a huge boost—but we need hundreds of CREW supporters to step up and donate in order to reach that goal. Can you make a matched donation to support this crucial work now?
Of course, this is only one small piece of our work—but with insurrectionists running for office around the country, with many who buy into the Big Lie launching campaigns for roles overseeing elections, the fallout from the January 6 attack is not going away anytime soon. The fight for our democracy—for comprehensive reforms to combat big money, strengthen ethics rules, protect and expand voting rights and secure our elections—is urgent and overwhelming. At CREW, we’re working every day for a fairer, more accountable, secure democracy.
If you want to make sure that fight continues for as long as it takes, I hope you’ll consider contributing towards our year-end challenge. We truly can’t do it without supporters like you.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
