Bangor Daily News: “Paul LePage sells small-government COVID-19 response as Maine cases rage”
John,
With COVID-19 cases surging, basing Maine’s response to the pandemic in science and common sense - like Governor Janet Mills has done - has never been more important.
But, as reported in the Bangor Daily News, Paul LePage wants to let COVID spread unchecked through Maine schools and nursing homes so we can reach “herd immunity.” That puts us all at risk.
We’ve seen this playbook before. Last time around, LePage slashed public health staff and funding, opposed Medicaid expansion, and undermined public health. His anti-science campaign promises suggest we’ll see more of the same if he wins.
Since announcing his re-election bid, Paul LePage has made it perfectly clear that he won’t act in the best interest of Maine. His campaign promise to roll back common-sense COVID precautions is just a taste of what he’ll do in office. John, let's send Paul LePage and the GOP a strong message:
Thank you,
