Hi John,
The end of the year (and the fundraising quarter) is quickly approaching, so our team has been working around the clock to ensure that Jared puts forward the strongest finance report possible. If you want to help us reach our final quarterly fundraising goal of 2021, you can chip in here:

Jared’s top priority in Congress is delivering results for the people of Maine’s Second District. So as 2021 comes to a close, we wanted to highlight just some of what Jared has accomplished this year.
REFORMING OUR ELECTION SYSTEM AND EXPANDING VOTING RIGHTS:
Jared was proud to be an original cosponsor of the For the People Act and cast his vote in support of the most comprehensive election reform and anti-corruption legislation in decades. This sweeping bill would expand voting rights, reduce the influence of dark money and special interests groups, and bring much needed transparency to our politics.
Jared also voted in favor of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which if enacted would reaffirm and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Jared is proud to have cosponsored this bill and helped it successfully pass out of the House of Representatives.
Jared believes our government should be responsive to the people, not corporate special interests, which is why he introduced the Ban Corporate PACs Act to ban spending by corporate political action committees.
ADVOCATING FOR EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL:
Jared was proud to cosponsor the Equality Act so that protections for LGBTQ Mainers don’t stop when they leave the state. He believes that no Mainer should be treated unfairly because of who they are, which is why he voted for this bipartisan bill to extend anti-discrimination protections -- not just in the workplace, but in every place.
Jared was also proud to support removing the arbitrary and unnecessary deadline for constitutional ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, helping Congress pave the way towards guaranteeing equal rights under the law regardless of sex.
Jared believes that if you are putting in the same hard work and getting the job done, you deserve equal pay. That’s why he was proud to support the bipartisan Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that if enacted would help reduce the disparity in pay between men and women in America.
SUPPORTING REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM:
Jared voted in support of the Women’s Health Protection Act because he believes that politicians have no business being involved in the private medical decisions made between a woman and her healthcare professional.
SUPPORTING ORGANIZED LABOR:
Jared knows that stronger unions lead to a stronger middle-class in America. That’s why he led a group of over 100 House members to push House leadership to hold a vote on the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, a bill that would pave the way for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. By passing the PRO Act, the House took an important step towards strengthening worker protections, not limiting them.
PROTECTING SHIPBUILDERS’ JOBS AT BATH IRON WORKS:
Bath Iron Works employs over 6,800 Mainers from all over the state. Jared successfully secured a provision in the final version of the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that authorizes the construction of three DDG-51 destroyers, a significant win for the shipbuilding workforce in our state. This is the culmination of months of work by Rep. Golden on this issue to push back on the administration's budget proposal to cut back on construction of these ships.
INVESTING IN INFRASTRUCTURE:
After months of working with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle, Jared was proud to vote in support of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This is a clear win for Maine and our country and will put Americans to work building roads and bridges, expanding broadband to rural families, helping protect Maine kids from lead poisoning, and much more.
SUPPORTING MAINE PUBLIC LANDS:
The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), a bill that Jared helped introduce, became law in December 2020. Now, $16 million is coming to Maine to improve and maintain working forests and public lands near Perham Stream, around Bethel, and in Acadia National Park. Jared joined Secretary Deb Haaland on her trip to Acadia National Park -- her first visit to Maine and first visit to a national park as Secretary of the Interior -- to discuss the planned park investments stemming from the passage of GAOA.
Thank you so much for being on our team. Jared has accomplished so much this year, and we know that none of this would have been possible without your continued support. We look forward to all that 2022 will bring.
Sincerely,
Team Golden
P.S. The GOP establishment has listed Jared as a top target for 2022, and dark-money groups have already spent a record-breaking amount of money in our district to attack Jared’s record. We can’t let them undo all the progress he’s made, so if you can, will you chip in $5 or more before our FEC deadline at the end of the month to help Jared continue this important work on behalf of ME-02 in Congress?
