Happy holidays and (almost) new year! Looking back on 2021, I am extremely proud of what our team has accomplished.
Although we have seen many great successes this past year, there is still much more that needs to be done. With 2022 on the horizon, I’m eager to keep up the meaningful work our team has been putting in.

In early November, I voted for the monumental bi-partisan infrastructure bill. After spending months developing a bill that would create jobs, bolster economic growth, and combat climate change, I was able to sign a package that would bring nearly $4 billion to Kansas.
From US 69 to KCATA buses and high-speed internet access, the infrastructure package will fund and repair necessary investments throughout Kansas. With this, the package supports our state’s larger goals of boosting a clean energy economy.
In November, I celebrated veterans day. As the daughter of a 20-year U.S. Army veteran, I have a special appreciation for our veterans. This year, in honoring our veterans, I announced a grant for Johnson County Community College to provide scholarships for veterans to get their Commercial Driver’s License.
This December, I had the opportunity to discuss the Paycheck Protection Program in my interview with Michelle Singletary of The Washington Post. As the pandemic continues into its third year, it's essential that we listen to our small business owners, providing relief to those who need it.
