Last month, Ms. Wilson* reached out to us for help. The family’s pediatrician was concerned her daughter’s asthma was being triggered by rodents in the house, but the landlord wasn’t willing to hire an exterminator or fix the holes in their walls.

The next day, Ms. Wilson called back. She said, “I told the property manager that I called Children’s Law Center, and they’ve agreed to move me into a new, clean apartment.” The manager knew the Wilson family had a right to live in a safe, healthy home – and that our team would fight to make that happen.

Over the years, we’ve heard the same from many other families. Just saying “Children’s Law Center” can get results. That’s because landlords, schools and DC agencies know that we are tenacious advocates for DC kids – and we won’t stop until we solve the problem.
