2021 was a transformative year for Accountable Tech.

Hey there --

2021 was a transformative year for Accountable Tech.

We added four new staff members, highlighted the harms of Facebook and Instagram on children, won a pause in the development of Instagram Kids, coined the term “surveillance advertising” with a global coalition of groups, organized a campaign of small businesses standing up to Big Tech monopolies, and launched TheFacebookPapers.com to chronicle all the reporting on Frances Haugen’s release of internal documents from Facebook.

AT will be taking a break until the new year to give our staff some time to rest and prepare for 2022. Here’s our team signing off for our last team meeting of the year today:

As we close out 2021, we want to say thanks again for all your support. We’re not your typical organization hounding you for donations at the end of the year. But if you still want to donate to support our work—we certainly would appreciate it!

Onwards,
