Blue Dog Leadership Statement on Rep. Murphy Announcement to Not Seek Re-Election
WASHINGTON—Today, Rep. Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), the Blue Dog Coalition’s Co-Chair for Communications and Outreach, announced that she will not seek re-election to a fourth
term representing Florida’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), the Blue Dog Coalition’s Co-Chair for Administration, issued the following statement following the announcement:
“Today, our friend and colleague, Rep. Stephanie Murphy, announced she will not be seeking re-election in 2022. We are saddened by this news, but glad for her to get to spend more time with her young children,” said Rep. Tom O'Halleran. “Her energetic leadership and creative policy thinking will be sorely missed, not just in our Coalition, but in Congress as a whole. She is a talented legislator and devoted public servant, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for her.”
