Monday Nature Mystery

Congratulations to Mark for correctly identifying the call of the Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis).  Interestingly, both the male and female Northern Cardinals sing. They are the official bird of the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as six other states. New research supports splitting this familiar bird into multiple species. To learn more, click here.
