I can't help but feel angry for what some of my kiddos and their families are continuing to go through.

John,

As many in our community celebrate the holidays, I can't help but feel angry for what some of my kiddos and their families are going through.

I’m sure you saw the news that the future of Build Back Better is in limbo after Joe Manchin’s stunt on Fox News yesterday. This means the expanded Child Tax Credit is set to expire, which puts hundreds of dollars in parents’ pockets to help with expenses during financially tough times.

Families in the Central Valley already struggle to put food on the table. This news only adds to their hardship. Meanwhile, my opponent Kevin McCarthy is celebrating this as a victory. Frankly, it’s sickening to watch.

It’s easy to feel disheartened by this news, but this is not the time to give up. As a teacher in this community for over 20 years, I’ve seen my students overcome immense hardships to get ahead. Their stories give me strength, and I’m reminded that I’m running for Congress because they deserve much better than Kevin McCarthy.

For too long, McCarthy has been able to avoid real accountability. We're holding him accountable right now, but we can’t do this alone:

If you're ready to see the last of Kevin McCarthy, please chip in $3 toward my FEC end-of-quarter fundraising goal. Everything we raise goes straight toward holding McCarthy accountable and giving my kiddos and working families in our community a better shot.
