$0.05.
That’s how much it costs for our campaign to reach out to 1 voter in Kentucky.
As the Organizing Director for this campaign, this number has been on the top of my mind. Early and sustained voter outreach is going to be critical so we can turnout newly engaged voters, raise up our voices this election, and end Rand Paul’s dangerous and irresponsible lies.
So today I’m reaching out with an important request:
We’ve got about 632781 registered voters there. And at a cost of roughly $0.05 per voter, we’ll need to raise about $31,639 to cover our budget and reach every voter in Jefferson County. |
For too long, there’s been this myth that Kentucky is a red state. But it’s not. It’s an unorganized, disenfranchised, and exploited state.
It’s one of the only states in the country with Republican senators and a Democratic governor. Where the number of people who don’t vote outnumber those who do. And when you look at recent political trends all the numbers show that the tides are turning: we have a real chance to elect bold progressive leadership in Kentucky and make history this election.
Rand Paul knows this. So his plan is to divide us, distract us from the common bonds we share, and discourage us from voting. We’re seeing that right now every time Rand Paul goes on live TV to spread misinformation about COVID and attack safety measures like mask mandates. He’d rather spread another dangerous lie than focus on the issues our families face.
That’s why early and sustained voter outreach is going to be a critical part of our strategy to win. We’re bringing our campaign’s message for a new kind of politics that centers working families to every corner of Kentucky, from the hood to the holler.
We’re relying on grassroots supporters like you to power this historic people-powered movement in Kentucky. The price of reaching one voter in Kentucky is $0.05 — so if you chip in $15, we’ll be able to reach 300 Kentuckians who may have never heard of Charles Booker before!
Let’s do this,
Cody
