State lawmakers should not dictate what can be built, or paved over, on your block.
State lawmakers are wrong in claiming market-rate housing trickles down to the poor.
Affordable housing has been neglected by the state, and must be more seriously funded.
Paving over the urban tree canopy in California does not, in fact, fight climate change.
Letting developers slash parking doesn’t get multi-tasking Californians out of their cars. Instead, developers profit more, while making family life much tougher.

Californians didn’t ask Sacramento to become a vast and distant City Hall that they can’t access. Now, Sacramento has created a public backlash after crafting dozens of related laws that reduce community input, restrict city government powers, and shift local land-use and local zoning powers to the state.
