John,

I won’t lie to you – 2021 has been a hard year. I know you’ve felt it too. But then I remember how much tangible progress Brady has made this year. That’s what gives me hope for all of us, for next year and for the next generation.

I’m going to ask you to make a donation to the Brady Campaign in a moment. But first, I want you to know what your support has already done – because truly none of it is possible without you, John. So let’s keep building on all of the progress we made in 2021:

First, Brady launched a national campaign in support of President Biden's anti-gun violence efforts — our staffers even met with the president's team as they considered gun violence prevention efforts. Partly as a result of our advocacy, Biden included $5 billion for evidence-based community violence intervention programs in the American Jobs Plan — arguably the largest investment in gun violence prevention in U.S. history.

Right now, anyone who wants to can obtain a firearm, without a background check, if they buy a kit to build a “ghost gun”. Thankfully, Brady made real, lifesaving headway in tackling the deadly proliferation of these DIY weapons across the nation. Not only has the Biden Administration introduced rules on ghost gun regulation, Brady fought hard and garnered victories with Nevada’s ghost guns ban, bans in cities across California, and now, legislation banning ghost guns is being introduced in state senates across the country.

And our legal team, helmed by Jon Lowy, litigated 25 cases and filed 6 new cases taking on large corporations this year alone. We are continuing to hold individual gun dealers accountable for the negligent practices that fuel gun violence in their communities and using our legal prowess to help victims and attack this epidemic from all sides – including fighting the NRA in the Supreme Court.

And next year, we have the chance to do even more. But only with your help.

None of this lifesaving work would have been possible without our donors, but as we set goals ahead of 2022, we're being even MORE ambitious in our efforts to put an end to gun violence. We've finally got gun violence prevention champions Congress, so it's our time to go BIG — but we can't do it without your support. Will you continue your fight with us by donating now? We can't wait to kick off 2022 with even more powerful legislature and activism than EVER before.
