Earlier this month Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor asked whether the Court could survive the "stench" that would result if it overturned Roe v. Wade. The truth is, that "stench" isn't new.

That headline is correct, John. In 2013, the Supreme Court's conservative majority struck down key pieces of the Voting Rights Act, opening the floodgates for a slew of voter suppression laws. In 2019, they doubled down by ruling that federal courts could not place guardrails on partisan gerrymandering. Then, earlier this year, they upheld two Arizona laws that poked even more holes in the Voting Rights Act.
It's clear that we can't trust the Supreme Court to protect American democracy. But guess what: The NDRC is committed to fighting for fair maps and fair elections regardless of what six ultra-conservative justices decide. Will you support our work with a donation today?
It's no secret that the Supreme Court's rulings make our work more difficult, which is why the support of this grassroots community is so critical. Take a look at these words from NDRC Chair Eric Holder:

He's calling you to act, John. At a time when we can't depend on the Supreme Court to defend the freedom to vote and for everyone's vote to count equally, we're hoping we can depend on you. Will you pitch in today?
