Hey John,
The Build Back Better Act would be the largest action on climate in the history of this country. It would expand solar and wind power, incentivize electric vehicle purchases, and help cover the cost of switching from fossil fuel plants to renewable energy sources. The bill alone would get our country halfway to our 2030 emissions-reduction pledge under the Paris Agreement – the equivalent of taking all the cars in the U.S. off the road for a year.
But all of that is at risk. Sen. Joe Manchin is threatening to vote against the bill, which would effectively kill it. That could mean all the potential progress on climate change would die on the vine after being so close to passage.
This is a code red for climate action in America. Will you pitch in today so SEEC members can fight for real climate change legislation?

This is a good time to remember that every Republican has been against Build Back Better and the $555 billion allocated towards climate action from the start. Joe Manchin has been able to hold this bill hostage because an entire party has decided that saving the planet isn’t important.
This is a pivotal moment in the fight against climate change. Temperatures are rising, extreme weather events are becoming more common, and ecosystems are being destroyed. We are quickly reaching a turning point where we can’t go back.
This bill would be the greatest single step of progress in our history, and we can’t let it fail. Will you pitch in today so we can save BBB and pass the greatest climate change legislation in history?
